Once Upon a Time...........

  • In the 1800's people who had false teeth in England ate in their bedrooms before gatherings at the dinner table. This protected them from the embarrassment of having their teeth "fall out"!!!

Imagine THAT............

Oral Health - Overall Health

Oral Health Has been linked to overall health:
Cleavland Clinic has now added Oral Health as one of the 5 pillars of Total Health and Wellness.  THIS IS BIG....... The bacteria that starts in your mouth can travel through your blood stream and wreak havoc on your entire body.  If you have not been in for an oral health screening in a while, no better time than NOW.

Dental Teams

This may seem like a silly blog topic but, its so important in a dental practice.  Our team has worked so hard to have open communication, excitement about dentistry, and personal accountability every day.
We recently attended a dental education seminar where they touched on teams and how they come together or NOT.  We each realized that our office is truly a "Different kind of dental office".

We work together to provide the best dental care for each patient and give them a comfortable and modern atmosphere.  I just wanted to take a minute and thank each team member here!
Lindsey- Thank you for your education and "bed side manner".
Laura- Thank you for always going above and beyond for every member of our team- it realy does make a difference.
Andrea- Your enthusiasm about dentistry is legendary.  I'm glad you chose this field!
Jenny- Thank you for trying to learn from every situation.  It empowers the rest of us.
and last but not least...

Dr. DeVuyst-  Your ethics are truly an inspiration to the field of Dentistry and deep down your patients realize it too!

Thank You RELAY FOR LIFE

Relay For Life-Sterling Heights was a great success!
We all learned so much.  This was the first year that we formed a complete team in support of the American Cancer Society. Team: DENTIST4LIFE.  This experience was extremely humbling.  It made us realize how grateful we need to be everyday for the small things in life like friends and family.

I personally have been part of a care-giving team for my father-in-law in his fight against Liver Cancer.  Unfortunately, he lost his battle.  He remained so unbelievably strong and humble during the fight for his life.  Us as care-givers never realize the strength of the people around you until they are faced with the most self-less act they could ever provide.  Fighting cancer is time consuming, heart-wrenching, and in most cases debilitating.  The American Cancer Society has put together this wonderful event to bring awareness and HOPE to everyone involved with this terrible disease. For that i would like to personally say "THANK YOU".  To everyone who has ever helped, fund-raised, donated, and set aside time to help someone in the fight for a cancer free world, THANK YOU.

As for our Dentist4life team- I think we have each brought away a special piece of what it means to Relay For Life and support the American Cancer Society.  We laughed, cried, and most of all came together in our free time to support each other for a wonderful cause. YOU ALL ROCK!!!!!!!
